A vast wooded area with relics of a cork oak forest, once the site of a renowned production, is today also affected by reforestation with eucalyptus. Wedged between the courses of the Salso Cimarosa on one side and the River Cerami on the other, it culminates to the south in the Timpa di Sarro range.
