Castelli di Tavi e Guzzetta
POI / Castles and fortresses, Archaeological sites, Landscape and nature
Located along what was once the ancient consular route of Catania Termini, the two castles rise on two quartzarenitic spires of Numidian Flysch, already spectacular for their shape. They are now reduced to ruins but still retain a strong charm and represent an example of "landless" fiefdoms or without inhabited country. Tavi then rises to guard the very fertile valley that sees the birth of the Crisa-Dittaino River and which later became modern Leonforte.
