Four days to discover Enna, a lively and unspoilt land in the heart of Sicily, where legends of gods and ancient crafts intertwine with the flavours of a generous land. A journey back through millennia, among hilltop villages, centuries-old olive trees and the warmth of those who keep the oldest Sicilian tradition alive.
An organised small-group departure (2-12 people), with charming B&Bs, farm-to-table tastings, expert guides and dedicated assistance throughout.
Programme
Day 1 — Saffron, cheese and mines
- Breakfast with Kore Siciliæ products.
- Saffron harvest and cheese-making at a historic dairy, with a sensory tasting (cheeses, ice cream and saffron infusions).
- Guided visit of the Floristella Mining Park, one of the most striking industrial-archaeology sites in Southern Italy.
- Return to the B&B, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2 — Byzantine village and traditions
- Breakfast with Kore Siciliæ products.
- Excursion to the Byzantine Village, an ancient rock settlement with tombs, qanats and a rupestrian church.
- Sensory walk with Silvia among almond trees and centuries-old olive groves.
- Free dinner at the Madonna di Buonriposo festival in Calascibetta; B&B stay and overnight.
Day 3 — Enna, arancini and craftsmanship
- Breakfast with Kore Siciliæ products.
- Guided visit of Enna: the Rocca di Cerere, ancient sanctuary of Demeter and Kore, and the Cathedral, a national monument.
- Arancini Experience with Rosario Umbriaco, Ambassador of Taste: making and tasting the Enna-style arancino.
- Wood-restoration workshop with master Angelo Scalzo; free time, dinner and overnight.
Day 4 — Villa Romana del Casale
- Breakfast with Kore Siciliæ products.
- Guided visit of the Villa Romana del Casale and its famous mosaics, a UNESCO site.
- Lunch and transfer to Catania airport for departure.
