An archaeological area that is part of the Archaeological Park of Morgantina and the Villa del Casale, it preserves the remains of a large Hellenised Sicel settlement whose life probably continued into late antiquity.
An archaeological area that is part of the Archaeological Park of Morgantina and the Villa del Casale, it preserves the remains of a large Hellenised Sicel settlement whose life probably continued into late antiquity. Many identify the settlement with ancient Herbessos. On the summit tableland, archaeological research has brought to light the remains of a theatre structure, a mighty city gate, part of the walls and an apse belonging to a late-antique ecclesiastical building.
