A workers' village, Pergusa was created during the twenty years of Fascism following the reclamation of the marshy areas surrounding the lake of the same name.
A workers' village, Pergusa was created during the twenty years of Fascism following the reclamation of the marshy areas surrounding the lake of the same name. Equipped with a church, a casa del fascio (Fascist party house), a large square with an obelisk, schools and a first-aid station, it soon became the holiday resort of the people of Enna. Today the village is a district with over 2,000 residents, provided with restaurants, bars, a hotel and services, and it is the hub for tourist access to the area.
